Part musical education, part expose and part really quite nice album, 'Uncovered' reveals 40 original tracks that many people are unaware are cover versions.It is a deliberately varied and genre busting tracklist, revealing the lesser known versions of tracks made famous by the likes of The Beatles, The Temptations, Kylie and Robbie Williams.There is the first ever Motown single (Barrett Strong / 'Money (That's What I Want)' covered by The Beatles (and also The Flying Lizards), Jorge Ben's Taj Mahal (ripped off by Rod Stewart for 'Do You Think I'm Sexy?' and settled in court as a result) and World Party's 'She's The One' (for which Karl Wallinger is no doubt very grateful to Robbie Williams).A heavy dose of Soul is included with tracks from Judy Street (Soft Cell's 'What'), The Supremes' Nathan Jones (Bananarama), The Miracles' 'Love Machine' (Wham) and The Delphonics' 'Ready Or Not' (The Fugees) plus some classic Reggae from John Holt (Blondie's 'The Tide Is High).
